Is it possible?

So a lot of people (okay like 3) have asked me how I came up with the name of my blog. I was looking through pictures and trying to think of the things that I would put on the blog and desperately trying to come up with something fun. And it just sort of came to me. Then the other night I was reading "Rilla of Ingleside", which is the last book in the Anne of Green Gables series, and I found the phrase "imps of mischief." I have read that book once before about a year ago so I was wondering, is it possible that my subconsious mind remembered that and sent it to the front just when I needed it? Hmmph, just when I thought my brain was declining, glad to know it's still working. I guess I have to give credit to Lucy Maud Montgomery for helping to come up with my title.

Spring/Summer Pleasures

So today I was outside in the hot sun doing two of my favorite things to do in the spring. I picked strawberries this morning, which in a couple of weeks will be a chore and not nearly as exciting, I love rustling through the foliage until I find a pretty red strawberry. It's like a treasure hunt, and you get to eat the treasure and it's good for you. I also hung my clothes out on the clothesline, who needs to add the heat from the dryer to an already hot house? I never feel more domestic than when I hang clothes out to dry. You'll find me sniffing my clothes and bed linens for days after. LOVE IT!

Kindergarten Graduate

I have made a video of his graduation ceremony, but Blogger is not being my friend, so I'll post a picture until I can get it to work. I haven't been this giddy about summer since it was me getting out for the summer. This has been the first day in a long time where we have no where to go and nothing planned to do. HOORAY FOR SUMMER!

Braided Ponytail

I got this one from a little girl in Jacob's kinder-garten class. It is great for hot days. It's up off the neck and stays put. Just a ponytail, separate into 5 braids and pull each braid into a loop and attach with a little clip, or just pull through the elastic from the ponytail. Curl your ends and seperate with a little pomade. Love it!

The day has finally come!

Maddie officially has enough hair for a hairdo! This is her very first updo! As you can tell from her tears in the first pictures she wasn't entirely pleased with me. She wanted to pull it all out and I wouldn't let her until I had documentation, then she pulled it out.

Peanut Butter Fudge Pie

I really liked this. Greg thought it was okay, mostly because it is so rich. Take a small slice and a glass a milk to go with it.

1 pkg. of cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/4. c. peanut butter
2 c. Cool Whip (I used real whipped cream)
1/4 c. of hot fudge ice cream topping, warmed
1 oreo pie crust

Mix together cream cheese, sugar and peanut butter. Fold in Cool whip. Put in pie crust and drizzle with hot fudge ice cream topping. Use a knife to marble the fudge sauce. Refrigerate at least 4 hours (longer is better).

Enjoy and then exercise for a week to work off all the calories.

Hairstyles

As many of you know, I am completely addicted to doing Lorelei's hair. There are some days however that I stare at her head and try and remember one of the hundreds of hairdo's I've done before. So I started taking pictures. I will say that 99% of the hairdos I have done are copies of originals I've found on the internet, so they aren't new and certainly not my ideas. But I thought if one turns out every now and again I would put it on my blog in case your mind has drawn a blank, or you've gotten into a rut. So here is one for today. I don't know why she pulled such a funny face on the first one.

In the Beginning...

So after much consideration and suggestions from friends and family, I have officially started a blog for our family. I finally decided to do this because so many other people have blogs that I can't keep track of them all. I want to be able to go to one place and be able to see all my favorite blogs on one page and not have to remember to check to see if they've been updated. In other words I am joining the crowd.
