Pinewood Derby

It is so amazing to me that Jacob is old enough to be in scouts. And with that comes the most exciting event of an 8 year old's life--The Pinewood Derby. Dad got more excited about it than Jacob did I think. I can't believe the lengthy discussions between fathers about the tricks of the trade. I wish everyone would just stick the wheels in and take their chances and level out the playing field for the boys. Anyway Jacob's car didn't come in last, which was Greg's goal. Jacob was glad when he won a couple of races, I don't think he really understood that he could win overall. So he was perfectly content. Jacob even wrote a Valentine for Greg, it said: "You are clean, you aren't dirty. I like your cars from the Pinewood Derby." I love this kid! Here are a couple of pictures.

A Merry Christmas to you...

Wow, it has been forever, but I just haven't had a whole lot of things to blog about. But I got my Christmas cards done today and I thought I would send them virally as well as through snail mail. We hope that all is well with you and yours and that you have a very Merry Christmas!

This is Halloween!

Here are the kiddos on Halloween. We almost didn't get pictures because we were in such a hurry to get out the door. It was windy and cold but it always amazes me that the kids don't really care. They just want candy and boy did they get candy. So we have Rapunzel, ballerina, Cat in the Hat, and a fairy. Aren't they so cute?

It's Finally Finished!!!!!!!!!!

Ever since we found out we were pregnant with baby girl #3 we knew we would need a bunkbed for our two older girls if they were going to all coexist in the same bedroom. A few months after Annabelle was born Greg set to work to build one. Because of the proportions of the room we knew that it had to be kind of an all-in-one (1 bed that would accomodate the existing toddler bed, 9 drawer dresser, and lots of shelves). My amazingly talented wonderful terrific husband came up with the design and planned it all out. He has been working on it every chance he had since then. He would hit a snag and ponder for awhile on how to fix it and then plow forward. He is a little burnt out from it all. He swears next time he'll just build a bunkbed without shelves, drawers, etc. Now as Annabelle has just turned 18 months old, it is finally completed. I love it and the girls love it. Lorelei was begging to go to sleep last night. It was nice to have them all sleeping in their rightful places. By the way, Greg built the toddler bed too, about 3 years ago. I told you he was amazing!

Lorelei's 6th Birthday!

For Lorelei's 6th birthday she had her very first birthday party. We had a pool party, which is easy peasy for me. We had lots of fun, and had yummy food to eat. The shark watermelon was a big hit and so were the flip flop cookies. The cake was almost too cute to eat, but we did it anyway. :) I got the ideas for all of them on the internet, so I can't take any credit for them, but they were a lot of fun to make and eat.
I can't believe Lorelei is 6 and she's going to start 1st grade next week. She's such a lot of fun to have around. She's so creative and loves to design and make things. We love our pretty Lorelei!

4th of July

I know I am a little behind, but here are some pictures from our 4th of July party. We had our good friends the Petersons over for a barbecue with messy but delicious hamburgers, a little water party, a few rockets shot in the air, a couple of sparklers and some ice cream cones. It was a lovely evening, one that complete wore all of us out.
